(1) Thu Mar 17 2005 15:55 PST: Jury selection is over and I'm not on the jury. Bizarrely, both of the people I made friends with during the process are on the jury. So don't make friends with me if you want to get out of jury duty.

This is fortunate because it means I can go down to Bakersfield tomorrow to see my mother. Hoorah!
