News You Can Bruise for 2005 December 5 (entry 2)

Mon Dec 05 2005 22:11 PST: Sometimes I post here Project Gutenberg texts where you can get a story if you read the names of the illustrations. This list of illustrations forms a story because almost every sentence in the story has an illustration to go with it.

• "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
  Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore."
• "Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak December,
  And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor."
• "Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow
  From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore."
• "Sorrow for the lost Lenore."

Really plays merry hell with the meter though.
