The other day, we saw a sign: "Area Rugs On Sale". "That's the worst Onion headline I've ever seen," I said.

I'm tired of frying tofu, so I just tossed it in oil and put it on a silicone sheet and baked it at 375 degrees. It worked fine. It's not 100% as good as fried tofu, but it's so much easier to make, and it cooks more evenly.

Do you normally just fry it in oil? Like, plain?

Yeah, and then it gets stir-fried.

Oh, I see. Interesting. I usually just toss it in before the vegetables when I stir-fry it with tofu, but that would be a good way to take some of the moisture out of it and give it some texture. When I fry tofu alone, for breakfast or sandwiches, I dredge it in tamari sauce and brewer's yeast first.
