(5) Fri Oct 24 2003 14:18 Wiltingly In Love: My mother has a "boyfriend." What a strange reversal of roles to hear my mother carry on like I am her college roomate and she has just found the man of her dreams. Stories about staying out until 4:00 in the morning talking, descriptions of the first kiss, you know. She really is in love.

Hey! She told me she wasn't going to kiss him until they were engaged! What does this mean?

I hope she remembers all the warnings she gave Dad when he was dating the second time around.

Well, there is no ring, which means there is no engagement, HOWEVER, they are talking about a February wedding. But he seems he will be a good member of the family. He's asked Kristen what she hopes his role will be in her life. I think that's a good sign. What were her warnings?

Oh, she warned Dad about not spending too much time alone together, not being alone in the house, not "going too far" etc. You know. parent stuff.

Actually, mom asked me what I thought his role should be in our family. I told her I wanted him to be a step-dad, and grandpa to my kids. I asked Lorna what she wanted Ben to be to her and she said "I want to call him Dad." I think that we will have a new "Dad".

Also, he did talk to me on the phone when Mom was in Utah, and he was already giving me 'fatherly advice.'
