(5) Fri Sep 09 2005 21:31 Proud New Parents:
No, not of additional human beings. Our PC was causing us major headaches by crashing randomly, so we bought an iBook. We are now Mac users. And it feels like I've entered another dimention. How does this thing work?!

yaaaaaaaay congrats! you'll get used to it in about a day... much sooner than you'll be used to not having headaches!

I know, I know. I'm really excited. Really. But after typing out my Garrison Keillor blog entry, I went to control+c copy my paragraphs and spell check them in Word. Instead I clicked on fn+c and lost the whole thing. I have noticed few differences between our old pc and this mac, but the few have pronounced themselves.
BTW--what should we do for word processing? Right now we have the test version of Microsoft Office, but we wouldn't mind escaping Microsoft products altogether with this shift to the mac.

Sadly, I am still using MS word. With all the switching I have to do back & forth with PCs, it would be too much of a pain not to. My one regret about the keys is the lack of a "delete" key that deletes forward.

Yeah, I guess that's the truth. One just can't fully escape the shadow of Microsoft. I would miss the delete-forward function of the PC if I'd ever been able to remember it to use it!
