RIP James Doohan >

[Comments] (7) I'm Not As Shocked As You Think I Should Be: Today while I was proctoring the retakes, I read the rest of The Half Blood Prince. The little bit at the ending of the book was more like it. Too bad it took the author 500 pages to get there.

I think she was thinking ahead to the last volume and more worried about setting us up for what happens there than she was about writing a blockbuster with this one.

All in all, a disappointment despite the bang-up ending.

I think the devlopment is more focused on characters than plot. Which is why I loved it, but I am more invested in the characters than you are, probably.

I LOVE Snape. I will probably continue to say this until I am killed for it, but I will always remain a Snape loyalist.

I like Snape too. His character is very plausible.

As I said in a comment on Camilla's blog, I think Snape is being set up for a grand heroic gesture in the final book. Or maybe even an accidental heroic gesture, like Gollum. The author has invested too much in this character to have him be a throwaway.

I agree with you Mom.

I doubt Snape ever does anything on accident.
