Can someone tell me why Clark would drop out of the race, if he was quoted off the record stating "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." If he knew about this alleged affair of Kerry's, why would he drop out?
Supposedly that is why Howard Dean has not dropped out, because he thinks that he can beat Kerry now?!

It's a tangled mess of an issue, with lots of rumors and allegations being thrown by people with vested interests. I don't know whether Kerry had this particular affair, or any affairs, and I don't know whether Clark or any of this ex-staffers spread any rumors about the allegation. I do know that Clark dropped out because he had really low support and simply couldn't win the nomination, and that it is technically impossible to be "quoted off the record." Either you are on the record or you are off it, and if you are off the record then people should not quote you.

I agree with the off the record comment. Isn't that why they say "off the record"?
