The Missing >

[Comments] (6) : Tonight I am going to watch "The Missing" with Aaron. We rented it from Clean Flicks, and I have been waiting for it to come out finally. I am also going to make tacos for dinner. I am actually starting to cook again, yay. I can't believe it is almost April. Aaron's semester is almost over. It has been the shortest and longest semester ever. Longest b/c I was sick for so long, and shortest b/c I was oblivious to everything going on around me. If not at work, then at home lying on the couch. All the days just melted together so it didn't really feel like 3 full months. Just a blob.

I made Albacore tuna with pickle chunks and celery chunks on a wheat pita with mustard today for lunch. Soooo good!

Gasp! I read in the paper that you're not supposed to eat albacore when you are PG because of the mercury. The skipjack (chunk light) is supposedly okay.

Next week, it will be something else you shouldn't eat.

I have heard that too, but I don't really believe that if it did have mercury that it would have enough of it to adversely effect me or the baby. Maybe I am wrong though, but I doubt it. A nutrionalist, is that a word?, that I recently met with only warned me of other fish like shark and swordfish etc that I should worry about. I hear different things all the time. Like my midwife wants me to gain about 30lbs during the pregnancy to ensure a high birth weight for the baby, which increases the survival. But books and the nutritionalist I spoke with want me to gain 15-25 lbs. I can see 25 lbs as resonable, but no one only gains 15 lbs being pregnant, and if there are such people *they* are malnourished not me. Also I am not supposed to eat lunchmeat and soft cheeses b/c it contains a bacteria called lysteria, which can cross the placental barrier. I am careful to only eat high quality deli meat, but I eat sandwiches b/c I work full time and there isn't any leftovers if you know what I mean. I guess I am a bad mother.

From all the classes I've taken, 25-25 pounds is normal. 15 is ridiculous! Tacos sound yummy, I'm glad you're not sick anymore.

I meant 25-35

I've heard 30 plus is good, so I'm with Susie. The baby and fluids alone will almost weigh more than 15, and that doesn't take into account the placenta and such. And if you want some recipes for yummy bean spreads to put on sandwiches for lunch, let me know. Even better, get freshly ground almond butter from Good Earth. That stuff is heavenly. Mmmmm. I just ate a slice of freshly baked bread with almond butter on it for a snack.
