Sunny 9 for 2004 November 1 (entry 0)

(4) Mon Nov 01 2004 18:33: My friend Roxanne had her baby boy. Michael and Roxanne named him Ethan Michael, and he was 8 lbs 7 oz. Her water broke on a Monday at 5:00 pm and she didn't have the baby until Tues at 9:00pm. After having a 10 hour labor, I can't believe she had to go though labor over 24 hours! Thank goodness for Whitney genes.

Whitney genes? I had to PUSH for 8 hours with Leonard!

Susie took about 36 hours; Rachel took 48.

Well, my mom had fast labors, so I don't know where she got it from, but I went from a 4 to a 9 in 2 hours and only pushed for 40 mins, total labor being 10 hours. This may be inappropriate but it took me longer to have my first BM after giving birth than actually giving birth. What's up with that?

My mother always went really fast. She told me it hardly hurt at all and got over quickly. Gradually, some time into labor with Leonard, it occurred to me that I'd been had. Maybe I took after Aunt Jeuney and Anne took after Mom.
