While we are on the subject of movies, is it just me who thinks the casting of 'Beyond the Sea' with Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth is just wrong? I mean why is a 21 yr old actress playing opposite of a 45 yr old actor? That is just disgusting and there is nothing romantic about it. Kevin Spacey creeps me out. That is just Hollywood/society for you. If it were an older woman with a younger man everyone would be turned off, but it is ok the other way around. I mean he is over twice her age. It is just wrong.

Alan Greenspan, head of the Federal Reserve Board, married a woman who works for NBC and MSNBC, Andrea Mitchell. She's much younger than he is.

By the way, we'd be willing to babysit for even less than a steak dinner. John says a Snickers bar.

That is gross to, and I don't encourage those types of relationships. That is why I don't understand why Hollywood is trying to make it look normal. In reality Bobby Darin is only 8 yrs older than Sandra Dee, not 24 yrs older like Kevin and Kate. Thanks Susie and John. Maybe we will take you up on it sometime. I always used Samuel and Atticus for my birth control when Aly lived here. I loved to play with them and it was just enough and often enough that I wasn't starving for a baby all the time.

This is the first time I have a little time to see the weblog. Lots of good comments. By the way, I WASN'T the one that posted the comment above. Just so you know.
I read about the movie in Wall Street Journal, and I thought that it sounded pretty hokey. I am not a big fan of Kevin Spacey (nor his last movies all of which tanked after his Oscar).Posted by Joe Walch at Fri Dec 17 2004 17:56
By the way, who would want to see a movie about somebody who has mediocre talent and uses art as a means to an end (i.e. fame) rather than an end. Oh!! sorry, I forgot that I live in the age of reality TV, and BOTOX. Superficiality is where it's at. . . as long as it improves your image. . . if it doesn't then you only have to look genuine and that is good enough. It's the modern day Machiavelli except no longer is it POWER that gets people going but FAME. Sorry, That was the Nistchean Joe that came out. I wont let him get out of his cage again. All these finals have made me cynical and tired.
