(4) Thu Feb 19 2004 12:36: Today I feel very excited and brave to take on motherhood. This is probably due to my ignorance of it, but I want to be the best mommy to my kids. I hope I don't get burned out and this lasts the next 25 years. I think it is possibly because today I feel great and I haven't felt the urge to throw up my breakfast. I can't wait to have my life back and to be productive again.

But do not despair, sis. There are lots of lovely moments to be enjoyed in the meantime. Dave's cousin, who has 3 children and her oldest is 3 months YOUNGER than Atticus (I'm not joking--and none were adopted--you do the math) says "If you can't beat them, join them." It's a nice approach most days.

Sounds like the approach the fathers take on. "Can't beat 'em joing 'em." Not Dave of course though.
