Hopefully, anyway--in terms of my bank account. I have learned a very valuable lesson this last week, and that is to really really really make sure everything is cleared before you close a checking account, and then wait a month just to be extra-sure, and not believe the people at the bank because they could be lying. Fortunatley a nice lady at a different Wells Fargo branch from the one that lied to me helped me do damage control, and it could have been a lot worse. I did have to go to the dentist and give them new money since they deposited my check a few days after I had closed my account, opps, but in my defense it has been almost an entire month. I just have to call again to make sure everything went through and the account is really closed. Whew.

There are two saving graces to Wells Fargo, for me. Having a credit card I can pay online without any fees, unlike my other credit cards, and that Wells Fargo is everywhere. But I am pro-Credit Union.I hope you find Tonks. Maybe he left to find Sadie.

The harm Wells Fargo has done has also been undone by (anther branch's) willingness to help me solve it. There is a lot to be said for customer service, I kept my wells fargo credit card and also savings account, mainly for the purpose of getting cash when I'm not in bakersfield.
Tonks is hiding in mom's closet. I think he's gone into hibernation.

Louise tried 3 times to close her account at Wells Fargo when we got married. It still has $3.71 and they send us a letter every month that cost $0.27 each time. I figure that is what they deserve. I use Discover, and I am able to pay online w/o fees. I love that card. It also downloads to Quicken or Money if you want, another plus, and you get 2-5% cash back at places like amazon! Did I mention that I hate Wells Fargo. I am more interested in a bank like Bank of America that develops neighborhoods, and doesen't prey on poor college students like carion birds on the carcass. They don't have money in the account, and yet they fine, fine, fine.

We left BoA because they wouldn't let us get money out in Europe. Discover isn't accepted everywhere.

That is true. I never like using debit cards anyways out of the country, though. A good mix of other credit cards does the trick. Although I am told that credit cards are of the devil, I don't mind having a wallet full of them. It is a little safer than cash. The only problem is when you have to pull out cash for those places that don't take any credit cards.
