[Comments] (5) Here's a thought: Maybe I will actually start reading advance review copies of books before they come out, and writing reviews to send back to the publisher. After all, it's nice to say thanks for a free book, and it could be the start of a new career for me.

I can just see it now...

Dear Sir or Madam,

The book that you sent for review is trash. I can't believe you would publish dribble like that. Instead, you should publish my book, and to help expedite the process, I have included a manuscript with this letter. Enjoy.

Rachel

PS Thank you for the free book. Please send one on women in WWI next time.

oh yes but the people writing the books on the women in WWI are the competition!

Sorry, I was talking about non-fiction books. They're not competition, right?

They are actually. Competition for the project. Fiction is competiton for me personally, but I don't care as much. Most of the fiction is western front anyway.

I laughed out loud at Becca's letter. "I have included a manuscript with this letter" ha ha!
