Inscription:
We visited Ubehebe Crater this morning. Leonard and I hiked down a ways and threw some rocks down. Then we hiked up the trail towards Little Hebe Crater and came sliding, galloping down with Susanna and she loved it, laughing all the way.
Postcard back:
The crater, formed by a volcanic explosion, is one-half mile across and 500 feet deep.
Leonard's comments:
Before starting this project I thought Ubehebe crater was caused by a meteor, like Arizona's nearby Meteor Crater. But actually it was caused by a ubehebe.
