On the way to the airport, we drove by the Superdome on the freeway. It is very large as indicated in this postcard. I am now sitting at the airport waiting for my flight to get ready to leave. I am looking out across the runway at Interstate 10, past which I see a train of oil tankers and piggybacks. Behind this is 50 ft high forest which well may be delta swamps which we saw when we landed.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA This aerial view shows downtown New Orleans, including the Louisiana Superdome®, the Mississippi River Bridge, and the newest hotels in the downtown area. The historical French Quarter can be seen to the left of the downtown area. Photo by Jack Beech
Leonard's comments:
1. My dad must have been really bored in the airport. 2. This postcard is rich in dramatic irony.
