Frances, Leonard, Susanna, Rachel and I visited the Harmony Borax Works with Ralph & Lois Boswell. We hiked up the hill behind a [???] saw purple wildflowers seemingly growing out of gravel.

Leonard's comments:
You've probably never given borax a second thought, but the Borax Works was a surprisingly big deal in our family. Maybe there was some family history associated with the place, or maybe it's just that my parents liked going to Death Valley and this is one of the only tourist attractions nearby.
