ARCHES NATIONAL PARK, UTAH
BALANCED ROCK and LA SAL Mountains
Equal to 1600 cars in weight, Balanced Rock is composed of the relatively harder Slick Rock Member. It sits atop the softer Dewey Bridge Member.

Leonard's comments:

It's pretty incredible that they thought the best use of postcard space was to break out geological terms like "Dewey Bridge Member"--terms that you wouldn't be able to do anything with before the Internet. OTOH it is now one of the most interesting aspects of the postcard.
