[Comments] (10) Can't Buy Me Common Sense: Disclaimer: First of all, I am very happy that they found the missing Utah boy. But I can't help myself. His dad taught him two things in life: to stay on the trail if you're lost, and to never talk to strangers. So every time he was on the trail and he heard an ATV coming by, he would hide, because he thought they were going to kidnap him. He's 11, not 4.

I guess it's easy for me to be critical of other people's parenting skills because I'm not one. But that just seemed really odd to me.

I turn 25 in one month from today. A month. I'm nervous--25 seems like it should be a big deal to me. But really, it's not much different from 24 or 26. But numbers are a higharchy; a caste system even. For example, 0's and 5's think they are better than all other numbers. 9's are a niche market, which are loved by women and advertisers (I'm perpetually age 39; it's not $10, it's $9.99).

We had an early b-day party for me last weekend with my family. I got Hidalgo, and am very excited to watch it, since I am told that Viggo is a babe.

Leonard: Why did this submit four times? Can you delete the other three for me?

Also, Dad should have taught him "Stay where you are if you are lost. Hug a tree." This seems to be a clueless kid whose dad should have been watching him closer. When I took my kids on CampFire outings, I always watched all the children like a hawk, and if that isn't possible, then I think the group doesn't have enough adult leadership, which IMHO is a problem with Church scouting and a lot of other activities.

You were told Viggo is a babe probably by me. I once had a dream (shortly after seeing Hildalgo) that Viggo rescued me. I told Aaron and he thought it was cool that I was smitten by him b/c if he were a girl then he would like him too.

I read in the news that the parents said the boy is socially immature. I mean for crying out loud, when he was rescued he wanted to play a video game on the man's cell phone. Now I am trying to respect their situation and not be too mean, but come on! We live in a generation of video game zombies and that is why I detest video games so much. Boys/men seriously become zombies when they play. That's not the only thing, I think the boy is more than socially immature, he probably is slightly autistic or something. I mean by 11 you should have the common sense to understand in certain situations you want a stranger to help you. The parents also said he had a bad sense of direction--like he thinks going uphill past a river will get him closer to his camp. There is more to the story than that. I am getting mean now so I'll stop. I am very glad that the boy was found safe.

Also, 9 is my favorite number. I just like writing it.

Oh yeah, you can delete entries yourself by going to Edit on the left side, then it should say Edit me by the entry you want to edit- click on it and then at the bottom of the page it gives you the option of [Main] [View] [Upload files] [Delete] ...press delete and walla. In your utilities you have to have the box checked that enables you to delete certain whole entries though.

Yeah, I don't have a delete button, nor do I know how to change my utilities. I'm very "lost in space" I guess.

Kristen - great tech support. Also, I like "9" and it is one of my favorite numbers, possibly my favorite. Did you ever watch the relevant musical skit on "Square One TV"?

Okay, I fixed it. Maybe you hit the submit button four times because the wireless in your apartment kept dropping off. :) I don't know why you don't see a delete button. Maybe you have cookies turned off. Do you have to type in your password every time you want to add an entry, even if you haven't quit the web browser?

Posted by Kristen at Thu Jun 23 2005 13:28

No, Sumana-I haven't seen that.

Thanks, Leonard. Our wireless is deplorable, but for $6/month we can't complain I guess. I should have cookies on, as my CPA class requires it to be on to work. Who knows.
