Roy's Postcards: 1981/12/19

Inscription:

Frances Leonard Susanna and I went to see Ichabod & Mr. Toad at the Museum. Then we saw the Toy Train exhibit, the finback whale and the "buffoloes" as Leonard calls them. We also bought a drawing of Mole from "The Wind in the Willows" and a card of Northern Sea Lion to send to Grandma Whitney who is in the hospital.

The American Bison is the largest North American big game animal. It is sometimes referred to as the American Buffalo. Historically, the bison lived over much of the northern portion of what is now the United States and Canada. The current distribution is restricted to wildlife reserves and similar protected areas. This group depicts a portion of a herd along a stream near the foothills of the Big Horn mountains of Wyoming.

Leonard's comments:

That toy train exhibit was awesome. Susanna still has that drawing of Mole. My memory is that it was sketched on the spot by one of the animators, but I could be wrong.
