Roy's Postcards: 1982/11/24

Inscription:
(LEONARD) I went to the Museum with Daddy and Grandpa Whitney who is here for Thanksgiving. I saw lots of animals, including these "reindeer". I saw dinosaur bones and whale bones.
Postcard back:
MULE DEER
Scene: North Rim, Grand Canyon, Arizona.
Habitat Group in the Hall of North American Mammals.
Leonard's comments:
I never really thought about why these animals are called mule deer. They certainly can't be used as pack animals. Wikipedia claims "It gets its name from its large mule-like ears."
