Postcard back:
Two of the most beautiful and charming [First] ladies were Elizabeth Monroe (left) and Dolley Madison. Mrs. Madison's dress, which she wore at a New Year's Day Reception in 1816, is of satin embroidered with butterflies; no two are alike.
