Roy's Postcards: 1983/12/09

Inscription:

Today I received an unexpected, but much needed and much appreciated bonus. So Frances, Leonard, Susanna, Rachel and I all went out to Carls Jr. for dinner and then to Thrifty for an ice cream cone. It's beginning to look and feel like Christmas time.

Leonard's comments:

Just as a reminder, at this point my dad was an executive at a medium-sized software company. But executives didn't command the grotesque salaries they do now, and he had three kids, and... he didn't ever spend more money than he had to. Carls Jr. and Thrifty were enough to make a night special, so that's what we did.
