Roy's Postcards: 1985/10/03
This is the Hotel where I am staying. I went swimming in the swimming pool tonight. I[t] sure was nice to talk to you on the phone tonight. I love you.
Next to Dulles Airport, 30 minutes from downtown Washington. Complimentary transportation to and from Dulles. 206 rooms, suites and parlors with individual climate control and in-room movies. Fairfield Inn and Stirrup Cup Lounge. Indoor and outdoor pool, tennis volleyball, basketball, sauna. Fifteen meeting rooms accommodating from 15 to 500. Call toll-free (800) 228-9290 or direct (703) 471-9500 or (703) 661-8411.
I wasn't looking forward to typing all that up, but "Stirrup Cup Lounge" made it worthwhile.
Photos on the front include business dudes working together over beer and pretzels; chef serving prime rib to kids next to a centerpiece of raw, unpeeled carrots; 80s lingerie ladies fawning over Burt Reynolds-esque stud near a pool (presumably not what my dad meant by "I went swimming in the swimming pool"). All at the Dulles Marriott!
