Roy's Postcards: 1985/11/28

Inscription:

Frances Leonard and I headed out to the North Shore and drove through many pineapple and sugar cane fields. We stopped at the Dole Pineapple field and saw them growing.

Postcard back:

HAWAII'S PINEAPPLES
Pineapple from Hawaii has long been recognized as a world favorite. With the first planting in 1890, Hawaii now produces twice as much canned pineapple as the rest of the world combined.

Leonard's comments:

It was probably during this incident that this infamous photo was taken.
