Roy's Postcards: 1986/05/21

Inscription:

We stopped by Langtry Texas on way to San Antonio and visited the Judge Roy Bean Court House.

Postcard back:

JUDGE ROY BEAN'S COURT HOUSE, LANGTRY, TEXAS

Jersey Lilly Saloon contains the Hall of Justice presided over by Judge Roy Bean, called the "Law West of the Pecos," from whose judgements and decisions there were no appeal to a higher court.

Leonard's comments:

This picture was taken right after Judge Roy Bean adjucated a child custody case by suggesting that the child be cut in half.

Nice old-fashioned font in the spot art in the semicircle. "Happy Traveler Post Card".
