What a great concept. A CD of old, obscure Linux stuff. The Linux counterpart
of the Da Warren CD Dave and I are working on, I suppose. And it's
got this great marketing on that page, which I will translate for you:
- Everyone will find at least one Truly Useful Gem. -- Here's a hint, it's in /utils/truly-useful-gem-0.2.9.tgz.
- Hours of compile time fun -- A lot of stuff doesn't work.
- A veritable plethora of Linux Applications, Binary Executables, Libraries, Source Code, Etc. -- The implication is that other Linux CDs contain only regular, garden-variety plethoras of these things.
- Unreleased Experimental Linux Kernels -- The freakish offspring of misconceived kernel patches.
- Pre-compiled Linux Applications and Utilities for Motif -- So you can show your kids why GTK was invented.
- University Class Projects -- 1000 implementations of n! and the Fibonnaci series.
- Never before released configuration files. -- The sendmail configuration file they didn't want you to .rc!
- Source Code long removed from mainstream FTP's [sic] -- Because it's buggy and doesn't work and was long ago replaced by something better. Either that or it's those shady 'underground' device drivers I've been hearing about.
