I forgot to mention that another thing I don't like about template systems is when they add whitespace to my template as they interpolate it. I'm going to be using this templating system to generate RSS 3.0 feeds and other things that care about whitespace. I finally got XYAPTU to work in 1.5, but it introduces blank lines and extra spaces all over the place until I can't stand up. Bleah. Still hacking. Update: Got it to work.
