How so? I missed it!

First 10 minutes: exhausting recap of existing in-jokes going nowhere except perilously close to the shark. Second 10 minutes: Totally new and incongruous stuff, heavy-handed satire and movie parody. Last few minutes: back to form, where existing jokes are used to further the plot and develop new jokes. Last ten seconds: back to the really incongruous movie parody.

The narrator is acting really weird this season. I don't know what's going on.

I noticed that the sheer volume of narration has increased sharply at the end of last season and the beginning of this one. I think Fox is leaning on them to make the jokes more obvious, maybe on the theory that nobody watched the first two seasons because they didn't get it.

At least they're promoting it now, and heavily, but they'd have been better served by that promotion two years ago.

Isn't the narrator Ron Howard?

Posted by Leonard at Tue Sep 27 2005 13:28

Yes. That's why the narrator sometimes gets really weird when the Andy Griffith Show comes up (like happened in the most recent episode). Ron Howard is also the producer or some similar role, which is how they got Henry Winkler to be a recurring character.

I haven't watched the season premier b/c I want to watch the other shows first.
