The HighLine library needs some publicity. I didn't know about this until people reviewing the Cookbook pointed me to it. It's a library that makes it really easy to write cross-platform line-based console applications, with ANSI color. It doesn't do cursor positioning, so it's not the second (or third) coming of curses, but it's really cool. It's the highline gem. It doesn't really have a web page: just the Ruby Quiz entry that gave it birth.
