Let’s face facts: when they wanted to make feature film versions of "The Fugitive" and "The Brady Bunch," they didn’t tell stories about Richard Kimble’s brother, or the couple that lived across the street from the Bradys.

... don't tell me I'm the only one who finds both of those ideas strangely compelling.

I'm of the opinion that they should think up a new story to tell, in an entirely new universe. There have been enough Star Trek stories. Let it end.

But then, I think the same should be done with the Marvel and DC comic book universes, so.
