The obnoxiousness of the Go-Bots in the US is kind of sad, all told. The transformers were originally a go-bots ripoff, although stateside it always looked like the reverse was true. The original Japanese go-bots scripts were much darker and industrial-noir, while the US scripts never got beyond the beep-boop-beep killdozer fighting stuff.

Typical, really.
