Kristen, I got the flu after getting my flu shot too; there's some sort of super-flu going around this year.

Kristen: the flu shot as currently produced takes months and months to create. So a board of scientists has to decide several months in advance what strains of flu the vaccine should protect you against. A new strain of flu arose just as they were making that decision for this year's season and so the flu shot only partly protects you.

That is interesting. I was debating whether or not to get the shot, and I am kinda glad I didn't spend the $15 for it. Now watch and see me get the flu during Christmas break. :0
