Roadside remembrance shrines are supposed to help mourners with the grieving process. I feel a need to go out and set up a Styrofoam cross and plastic flowers somewhere, in honor of Justice O'Connor's retirement. Do you suppose she would like a teddy bear? A Mylar balloon?

When I was in high school, we didn't want Reinquist to be approved for the Supreme Court. Everyone was protesting and writing letters to our Congresspeople. It was indeed a dark day, we thought, when he was appointed.
