Sunny 9 for 2004 April 16

I just finished listening to Anne Frank: A Diary of a Young Girl on tape. I don't understand why they named it Anne Frank when the way the reader pronounced the name was Anna. Why would they Americanize a name in a real person's diary? Also while listening to the book, it reminded me of what Frances said about Harry Potter on tape on her vacation to TX. It was like there was a 15 yr old boy in the car and got annoying. Some parts of her diary reminded me of the worst phase a girl goes through. You know that really emotional phase that starts about a year before they start their period and last about 6 mos to a year after? Man, growing up with sisters I can distinctly remember that phase, and Anne had it bad. Some portions of her diary were so melodramatic I just had to laugh at some of her interpretations. I don't want to make light her of her situation of being in hiding, but her crush on Peter was just amusing and slightly annoying. Some parts I zoned out b/c it was so flowery.
