Interesting fact from the Whole Earth Software Catalog. You've heard of special-purpose word processing machines, but there was once a special-purpose spreadsheet machine: the WorkSlate. It didn't do too well.

I have a workslate in a box somewhere in the basement if you ever want to poke at one.
