Wow, that made me feel better:
Every IT generation has its seminal tome that transcends time and connects the dots in a way that no book had before it. For the object oriented generation in the 1980s, it was the Gang of Four (GoF) book. For the application architecture generation in the 1990s, it was Fowler's book on patterns (PoEAA). "RESTful Web Services" will be, in my opinion, that book for the 2000s Web services generation.

FUTURE GENERATIONS OF DIVINITY SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL TURN TO THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW AND SAY "GOSH, THAT WAS NEARLY AS INSPIRING AS RESTFUL WEB SERVICES!"

I haven't received my copy yet, but by the looks of it (by reading yours and Sam Ruby's blog for a long time), I think I have to agree.

Congratulations! It's not every day you get compared to Erich Gamma. Or are you John Vlissides?

By the way, as Sumana may have told you, Beatrice and I will be visiting New York shortly for the first time ever. It would be (insert hyperbolic adverb) wonderful to get a chance to stop by and say hi.
