Roy's Postcards: 1983/01/07
Inscription:
After staying at Stove Pipe Wells Village, we drove through fields of these "cornstalks". They looked very well-stacked and even spaced.
Postcard back:
The DEVIL'S CORNFIELD near Stove Pipe Wells in Death Valley consists of areas of wind-blown clumps of arrow weed with shapes and tousled tops reminiscent of rows of tassled corn shocks. The arrow weed once provided Death Valley Indians with shafts for their arrors.
Leonard's comments:
Everything in this region is the Devil's Something-or-other.
