Roy's Postcards: 1983/11/05
Inscription:
I was thoroughly amazed at these space craft: their small size and how little room there was in them for the astronauts.
Postcard back:
The 7,000-pound Gemini 4 spacecraft was launched into orbit by Titan II on June 3, 1965 carrying astronauts Edward H. White, II and James A McDivitt. It was during this 62-orbit journey, lasting 97 hours and 22 minutes, that White becamse the first American to "walk in space". White's extra-vehicular activity (EVA) lasted 22 minutes.
