Leonard, Mommy and I have just finished touring the Big Island. We saw lots of flowers, volcanoes and macadamia nuts. We are at the airport now to go back to Honolulu and go hom tomorrow. I love you.

Plumeria -- one of the favorite flowers of the people of Hawaii. Used for flower leis because of its long lasting fragrance and its abundance.

I'll never forget my first glimpse of the majestic macadamia nut. (Actually, the reference on this postcard is an in-joke involving a trip Susanna took to the emergency room.)
