Roy's Postcards: 1986/11/05

Inscription:

Dear Rachel,
We are having a good time. But we miss you. I hope you are having a good time. Love,
Leonard & Daddy

Postcard front:

Greetings from the United States of America

Postcard back:

The United States of America has a population of approximately 200,000,000 spread over an area of 3,615,211 square miles. That represents 6 per cent of theworld's inhabitants and 6.3 per cent of its land area. It is the fourth largest country of the world (after the U.S.S.R., Canada and China) and is young as nations go. Geography and man teamed in extraordinary partnership to make the United States of America one of the most powerful and prosperous nations the world has seen.

Leonard's comments:

Rachel was staying at Grandma's house. I was at home in LA. So I sent her a postcard. That covers the entire United States. And I circled where I was. A circle so big it also included where Rachel was.

I could go on and on about the details on this postcard, but I don't even recognize some of them (what's that pinwheel thing by New Hampshire?). I think the whales and the eagle are cute.
