Roy's Postcards: 1987/05/24

Inscription:

I saw some seals and I went down an elevator at Sea Lion Caves. The seals are alive.

Postcard back:

HARBOR SEALS
phoca vitulina
Pacific Coast

Seal pups are sometimes abandoned by their mothers and many times are lost and can be found on the Pacific Coast Beaches -- if found alive they are turned over to the aquariums, where they are assured safe keeping.

Color by Nancy Tobie.

Leonard's comments:

I guess a ride in an elevator was kind of a treat for us.
