Roy's Postcards: 1991/02/02

Inscription:

Dear Leonard,
How woudl you like to meet this Chasmosaurus on a dark night?
Da.

Postcard back:

This one-ton Chasmosaurus belli rears up on its powerful hindlimbs to intimidate an opponent with its great, frilled horned head. This ceratopsian had a large beak, powerful jaws, and multiple rows of teeth for eating trees and plants. Late Cretaceous Period. © Gregory S. Paul 1987.

Leonard's comments:

I believe a daytime observation would be more scientifically valuable.

I love the art here, especially with the seemingly irrelevant conjunction of Venus and the moon. Or is that the K-T asteroid?
