(1) Mon Oct 03 2005 12:55 the weather outside is frightful...:
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Well it is the first week of October, which means that it will snow this week, and then be nice until Halloween. It is currently snowing in the mountains, but here in the valley we just have freezing rain. I wich it would just snow, for two reasons...1. to get it over with, and 2. snow is warmer than freezing rain. Also rain makes me strive to be as lazy as possible. oh well it is ok. This past weekend was beautiful all over the state, becasue of General Conference. I was very much grateful for Elder Hollands, and Susan Tanner's talks about respecting and loving your bodies. They were excellent, and will be a great EFY resource. Friday night we went to the USU hockey game, which is always a complete blast, although I think there were only about 2 minutes of the game we didn't have someone in the box. At least we keep it entertaining. Then last night we had a crazy game of pit with the neighbor boys. That game was my childhood, and I am glad so many other people enjoy it as well. life is good.
(3) Sun Oct 09 2005 09:54 Hockey time:
I love hockey. I have watched a lot of it in my day, and have seen plenty of hockey violence. Last night our aggie vs. EastWashington University was rediculous! EWU took every possible opportunity to slam, and check our players regarless of the puck being anywhere near them. then one guy took a dive at our amazing goalie and sending both of them into our net, thus pushing the net into another one of our players, which in turn slide him into the wall so hard he we thought he broke his neck. The ambulance took him 30 mins later and we found out later it wasn't broken, but he did have a major concussion, and some cracked stuff. So finally the game resumes with 10 mins left in the 3rd period, and we scored a goal, one that just kinda slide into the net, and one of their players pulled it out and just kept playing it (this is the second time that this happened) and by this point our captian was so mad that he shoved the guy who did it, who in turn ripped our captains helmet off and let him have it with a hockey stick. So our captian reciprocated and then the fight began. We ended up in overtime, and it was still tied, and rather than going into double overtime, the refs called the game over. Finally the refs called something. Crazy sport! Yesterday was also our homecoming which we won, and we even had what Logan likes to call a parade.

(6) Thu Oct 20 2005 13:01 o happy day:

(3) Sat Oct 22 2005 11:33 we all need a little diversity in life...:
So I am the Diversity sec. for USU, and we are currently brainstorming ideas for a fundraiser/activity. Last week the LDSSA had a spectacular international dance night with 4 different Multicultural clubs serving food, and various international groups performing music. Hundreds of people came and there was lots of dancing...it was awesome. We might do something like unto that activity, but I was wondering if anyone had other ideas of cultural and diverse things they have been to, that were a lot of fun. The diversity committee at USU is made up of Multicultural groups, International students, disabled students, religiously diverse students, gender diverse students, and politically diverse students. Any types of ideas would be wonderful! Thanks and I love you all!
(1) Thu Oct 27 2005 15:30 Great Grandma Mary:
Grandma Mary passed away this week. It is sad, but she was very old. Her funeral is on halloween which is a little odd, but as I am not the strange superstitious type, it doesn't really matter. Farewell Grandma Mary....I hope to see you in heaven.
(2) Fri Oct 28 2005 13:50 the great pumpkin:
disaster.... once upon a time I decided to make pumpkin pie. i hurried and mixed the ingredients, then put it in to bake. I was watching smallville and checked on it later...nothing had happened. Then i realized that i had not put in the milk products at all. so i started over mixed it all up poured it in the crust and there was just too much filling. poured some out, put it in the oven, and then i checked and realized I had put in too much milk product. so i took it our poured the filling back in the bowl, spooned out the other filling that hadn't cooked, mixed it up, poured it into both crusts backed it and tada!!! 2 perfectly tasting/looking pumpkin pies. I got lucky and the martha stewart side of me paid off. I need to learn to pay more attention to things!
(1) Sat Oct 29 2005 12:29 basketball and a clue:
Yesterday was a highly entertaining day. first it was our blue and white basketball scrimage and it was so fun to watch our aggies play again. They are all highly entertaining good boys, and we love them (and yes I am actually friends with some of them, not just obsessive). and then we went to the theater dept.'s "A Clue" which is a hilarious show based on the board game, written personally for Utah State (like a Mr. Blue, instead of Mr. Green, and Ms. Scarlet is a spy from the U of U) and there is a chorus of dancing pumpkins which sing a rearranged clue version of "He had it Coming" from Chicago. it was absolutely hilarious, esp. because Mrs. Peacock was played by a man, and Miss White sure was black with a glow in the dark white wig on. The gay dancing pumpkin was my favorite though, esp. as his nespaper stuffing started to fall out as he high0kicked around the stage. I love Clue, and I love Halloween...and I am going to be a vampire tonight, because I have some sweet fangs to wear.
