Roy's Postcards: 1983/08/20

I went with Mommy, Daddy, Susanna and Rachel to the L. A. County Art Museum and saw paintings from the Hague. The one I liked the best was this on[e] with the turtles in it.

Then we went to Brother and Sister Pinkston's 50th Wedding Anniversary and I had a good time playing with my friends.

Postcard back:

Albert Eckhout (c. 1610-1666)
Study of two Brazilian Savana tortoises
(testudio denticulata)
Oil paint on paper on panel

Leonard's comments:

I still love this painting. One of my big surprise thrills in life was unexpectedly seeing it again when I visited The Hague in 2012.
