Roy's Postcards: 1985/07/03

Inscription:

On our way to visit Aunt Jeunie, Mommy and Daddy gave me a little Strawberry Shortcake toy to play with. It had a little doll and a tiny sewing machine.

Postcard back:

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE™ & CUSTARD™
with their new friends:
MINT TULIP™ & MARSH MALLARD™
ALMOND TEA™ & MARZA PANDA™
LEM™ AND ADA™ & SUGAR WOOFER™
CAFE OLÉ™ & BURRITO™

Leonard's comments:

The fall 1983 Strawberry Shortcake lineup! I was typing this not having seen the front of the postcard, and I thought "oh, great, ALMOND TEA™ is probably the Asian one." And then I got to CAFE OLÉ™ and aaaargh. You can't do this anymore outside of Japanese fighting games. And we'll never know the name of the French kid or their poodle because it got cut off. I dub them SUCRE BLEU™ & UN CHIEN CANDYLOU™.
