(Sumana) Next: Alton Brown meets Bjork!: For several weeks now, the Salon Premium help address has been receiving a daily email from a prayer service. I find them interesting to read, so I don't mind terribly that someone has signed us up for the service, except that I don't think someone should be able to sign me up for a daily email without my consent. (The industry best practice is "double opt-in" -- initial signup via email or web or whatever, and then a confirmation via email.)

Well, back in 1999, the prayer service evidently got into trouble with MAPS because of this. I find this funny in the same way it is funny when mutual friends meet and fall in love, or characters from different TV shows cross over.
