Roy's Postcards: 1984/01/26
Mom & Daddy went to the Bonaventure Hotel tonight to see John Stockman receive his Silver Beaver. The[y] also saw President Gerald Ford and Bob Hope. They bought me this postcard because Roy knows how much I like the blimp.

The Silver Beaver is a scouting award; John Stockman was bishop of Wilshire Ward before my dad was. Between the two of them, plus Gerald Ford and Bob Hope, that scouting awards ceremony may have been the squarest event of all time.
Even today, I get a little thrill when I see the Goodyear blimp (or the lights of said blimp). Thanks, dad.
This card makes it look like "Los Angeles" is a person who died in 1984.
