Roy's Postcards: 1991/07/27

We went to the White Sands and the kids had a ball playing in the sand. Leonard, Susanna, Michael Whitney and Richard Call slid down the dunes. The whiteness is incredible.

Postcard back:

WHITE SANDS NATIONAL MONUMENT
SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO
Located on Highway U.S. 70, 16 miles southwest of Alamogordo, is the largest deposit of White Sands in the world. This glistening gypsum covers an area of 27 miles long and 10 miles wide. Made up of shifting dunes from 10 to 60 feet in height.
